Day 3 was my favorite day. We left our campsite at South Fork Cascade Canyon and towards Hurricane Pass where we would eventually get to the Alaska Basin and actually leave the Grand Teton area for a short walk and go into the Jedediah Smith Wilderness. In the map below you can see this broken out by the pink/green/blue lines that we crossed over and then crossed back over as we kept going south:

Below are pictures from our walk up to the Alaska Basin and our views from the top:
Of course, what goes up must come down. We kept heading south and found what I think is the Basin Lakes. The water was crystal clear and provided us with a great resting spot.

Below are a few more pictures of the Basin Lakes as well as some flowers we saw along the way:
Once we got back into the Grand Teton area we headed along Death Canyon Shelf. The views were spectacular. After Death Canyon Shelf we started hiking down the ridge and walked along the below small table top mountain.
Once we got around the small table top mountain we finally got to Marion Lake.

We hiked past Marion Lake and eventually found our campsite for the night. The views from the Alaska Basin and Death Canyon Shelf were amazing and really made for a great day. Click here to continue on to day 4!
