On this page I’m just posting pictures I took while walking around town. The picture below is where we ate breakfast most mornings. Not bad!

Below are more pictures from around town, including some of the delicious food we ate. Most days we tried new places to eat but by the end of the trip we had honed-in on our favorite places to get drinks and food. No more discovery needed! All of this was within a 3 minute walk from our hotel and you could walk this entire area in less than 30 minutes. Isla Mujeres is definitely the place to go to if you want the warm Mexican vacation but also to feel somewhat secluded from the rest of the world. Also, definitely a place for 30+ year olds as didn’t have a party scene for the 20 year olds. Leave that to Cancun! We are old now.
On the last day before we left we did a snorkeling tour. The Island has a museum on the floor of the ocean where they’ve put over 1,000 statues. It’s a fun thing for tourists to do and it’s helping rebuild the reefs after they were destroyed from a hurricane. Below are some of the statues we saw. Fun fact: I got seasick while swimming and within a few seconds all of it was eaten up by the fish. I didn’t feel it at the time but I had many little fish bites on me that stayed on me for a few weeks. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it was pretty cool having hundreds of small fish all of the sudden swimming right next to you!

And that was it! A few days relaxing at the pool, a few days discovering the island, and one unforgettable day of snorkeling. Overall a great trip!
