For our honeymoon, Grainne and I decided to go to Japan. We planned our trip for the second half of March, 2024, so that we could try and see the famous cherry blossom trees while we were there. With a lot of research and help from some friends that had been to Japan before, including living there, we made our itinerary. First, we decided to spend a few days in Tokyo, taking in everything the world class city had to offer. Then, we went to Kyoto to see all of the history that it had to offer. After that, we decided to get off the standard Japan plan and hike for three days on the Nakasendo Trail. Finally, we headed to Lake Kawaguchiko so that we could relax for a day while taking in the sights of the lake and Mt. Fuji. We had an absolute blast and we can’t wait to go back one day.
