Day 3 – Oahu

On our third day on Oahu, the plan was to go to a beach in the morning, but then that area kept raining, so we decided to drive to a different part of Oahu and see if we could get a hike in. We ended up at Ka’ena Point Trail. Not only did we avoid the rain, but we had a very beautiful and memorable hike that felt like it ended at a peninsula of Oahu.

After our awesome hike, we went to the Laie Point State Wayside Park. There was a really cool land mass out in the ocean that we could take a picture of, but the main reason we went here is because it’s the cliff diving spot from the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The weather wasn’t great and the water was REAL choppy, so we didn’t give it a go, but one day we’ll definitely have to come back and jump in. Here’s Jack having too good of a time right on the edge!

We also had a big lunch at the famous Turtle Bay resort this day where I had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had (trick: a layer of pastrami).
