Grand Tetons 2018

The Patagonia crew had such a great time together in 2017 we decided to get back together for a trip to the Grand Tetons, Wyoming in 2018. (Plus we had to keep using the gear to get our money’s worth!). There were lots of lessons learned from the Patagonia trip. Some important ones were: I was not allowed to bring a 5 lb book with me, Grainne had to have a backpack that actually strapped around her waist, I needed to actually figure out how to properly fit my backpack to me around my waist so that I wouldn’t feel like I broke my back again, and maybe most importantly, bring more/better food (and Sriracha packets!) to make sure I didn’t go crazy eating Clif bars every day.

Overall, the Grand Tetons trip was a much more enjoyable trip for me than the Patagonia trip. With the above lessons learned, this trip was much easier for me to handle. In retrospect, jumping into Patagonia to be my first real big camping trip was a terrible idea, but at least I learned a lot to put to use for future trips. For this trip we travelled approx. 70 miles over the course of 6 days and 5 nights. The weather was perfect every day which also helped. This was a great trip and easily my best camping trip performance.

Before I get to the link for Day 1 of our Grand Tetons trip I’m dropping these few pictures here. Although these were taken after our trip and on our way back home, it makes sense to include them here instead of on our last day in the Grand Tetons.
