Brussels, Belgium 2014

Brussels was another trip I took over a weekend while working in the Netherlands during my Supply Chain role. It was a nice weekend, but overall not somewhere I feel the need to go back to. It was easy because I could take a train from Amsterdam which was the main reason I went.

Below are pictures of the Manneken-Pis. This is a famous statue in Brussels that is supposed to be a symbol of the local people with their sense of humor and independence of mind.

Below are pictures from the Atomium and Mini Europe. The Atomium was built for the World Fair of Brussels (1958) and symbolized the democratic will to maintain peace among all the nations, faith in progress, both technical and scientific and, finally, an optimistic vision of the future of a modern, new, super-technological world for a better life for mankind.
