Day 1 – Oahu

It might be boring to start this trip talking about the hotel, but our hotel was absolutely incredible. We were in Ko Olina where it seemed that a few companies had their own private hotels on their own private little beach areas. The most amazing part about this part of the island is that, even though there were times when the rest of the island had rain coming down on it, Ko Olina always stayed dry. It was absolutely picturesque.

We got in on Saturday afternoon and really just hung around the hotel Saturday afternoon/night. On Sunday morning, we went to Diamond Head to do the hike there. It was a neat little hike that gave us our first high level views of Oahu.

After that, we ended up going to the Moana Falls Trail to see the waterfall there. It was a bit rough since it was raining pretty hard at this time but we made the most of it and eventually saw the pretty waterfall. The walk through the forest was interesting as well since the leaves were so green (it reminded Grainne of Ireland a bit) and the way the leaves grew on some of the trees was really neat.
