Mt. Hood Meadows & Portland

We spent two days snowboarding at Mt. Hood Meadows and one day walking around Portland checking out the city. I didn’t take too many pictures at Mt. Hood though so I’m combining everything into one page here. What I loved about Mt. Hood Meadows the two days we were there was the great weather and being so high up we were above the clouds. Below is a picture of Jack (in the green jacket) looking out to Mt. Jefferson with the clouds below us.

Below are additional pictures from our two days at Mt. Hood Meadows:

On the third day of our trip we went to downtown Portland. I think the others may have liked Portland more than I did. Voodoo Donuts was awesome and in general the city was nice with lots of breweries and things to see, but after walking by the fourth or fifth drug addict high on any random corner the city lost its luster for me. Below are pictures from our morning.

After walking around for a little bit we decided to head into a Chinese garden we just happened upon. It was very peaceful and nice to sit around and relax for a little bit.

In the afternoon we went for a long walk across the Willamette River. The views from the bridge were really nice.

The next morning we headed out of Oregon to our Washington home. On the way we stopped at Full Sail Brewery to grab lunch and a few Sessions beers made famous in Chicago by Mary’s dad Geoff. He’s a big fan and so are we!

This page pretty much encompasses our first four days of vacation. So far the trip had been really good but it was about to get even better. Click here to check out our next days fun at Crystal Mountain in Washington.
